Miss India 2007

Banoongi main..... Miss India!!!! Mumbai girl Sarah-Jane Dias had this dream and she has lived it. And my blog (livingdreamz.blogspot.com) is all about letting the world know about people who live their dreams. Twenty-four-year-old Sarah-Jane Dias, a Channel [V] VJ and former Miss India-Oman (1995), won the country's biggest beauty contest beating 24 other contestants as she was crowned Miss India-World at a glittering ceremony in Mumbai on Sunday evening. Puja Gupta was crowned the new Miss India-Universe and Pooja Chitgopekar Miss India-Earth at the Femina Pantaloons Miss India contest 2007.

The first runner-up, 22-year-old Puja Gupta, is an aspiring writer and her hobbies are Yoga, writing, horse riding and drawing, says her profile at the pageant’s official website. The second runner-up, 21-year-old Pooja Chitgopekar, is a medical student in New Zealand and has won the Miss India-New Zealand (2002) contest, Miss India Worldwide (2003) (first runner-up) and Miss Auckland (2002) (first runner-up).

The celebrity panel of judges included actors Sanjay Dutt, Priyanka Chopra, director Subhash Ghai and model Ujwalla Raut. And what was the question that the three beauties answered right to make it through the pageant? The five finalists at the pageant were asked, “If you had to convince a rural woman to take part in this pageant, what would you tell her?”

Wonder what these ladies answered for that..
did anyone of you watch it live yest?

well, it doesnt come EASY!!!

Bollywood icon Aishwarya Rai learned dance steps between shooting breaks and undertook a 34-hour journey to represent India at a performance with other actors at the Commonwealth Games finale in Australia. She performed at the closing ceremony in Melbourne on Sunday with other popular Bollywood actors Rani Mukherji and Saif Ali Khan.

Rai emerged from a rose placed at the center of a stage in her sequence and dance, her choreographer, Shiamak Davar, was quoted as saying by the Mumbai Mirror newspaper. She traveled 34 hours from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where she was shooting "Dhoom 2," a sequel of last year's hit film "Dhoom". "It was a tiring journey for her. She had to complete the shooting of `Dhoom 2' and take a flight almost immediately for Melbourne," Hari Singh, her business manager quoted. "As soon as she landed, she met choreographer Shiamak Davar n discussed her dance with him." But in the weeks before tht as well, she had been learning dance steps for the ceremony during shooting breaks. "She had asked for a DVD in which her steps were recorded, to be sent to Rio where she was shooting," Singh said. "After pack-up, she used to return to her suite and practice her steps."

Davar said that Rai _ popularly known as "Ash" _ asked for a personal trainer earlier this month to teach her the steps, as she would have no time to practice them with the choreographer. "Ash is a brilliant performer. She was really concerned about performing perfectly at the games, even though it was just a two-minute act," Davar was quoted as saying from Melbourne. India's capital, New Delhi, will host the next Commonwealth Games _ the world's second largest sporting event after the Olympics _ in 2010.

Moods of a woman :)

(well this ones not from a feminist for sure!!!)

An angel of truth and a dream of fiction,
A Woman is a bundle of contradictions.
She's afraid of a wasp, Will scream at a mouse,
But will tackle her husband alone in the house.

She'll take him for better; She'll take him for worse
She'll break open his head and then be his nurse.
But when he's well and can get out of bed.
She'll pick up the teapot and throw it at his head.

Beautiful and keen sighted yet blind,
Crafty and cruel, yet simple and kind.
She'll call him a king and then make him a clown.
Raise him on a pedestal, and then throw him flat down.

She inspires him to deeds that ennoble man,
Or make him her lackey to carry her fan.
She'll run away from him and never come back
But if he runs away she'll be on his tracks

Sour as vinegar, sweet as a rose
She'll kiss you one minute, then turn up her nose
She'll win you in range, enchant you in silk
She is stronger than brandy, milder than milk

At times revengful, merry and sad,
She hates you like Poison, but loves you like Mad.
